Mobile Libraries
We met headteacher, Mr. Giovanni Devalet, in October 2022, when we first visited his school. Giovanni advised us of his desire to have mobile libraries for each of the classrooms, to encourage greater reading among the pupils. Through discussion, we agreed on a design for the libraries that would enable reading material to be displayed in a more visible and engaging manner; and for the libraries to be taken outside the classrooms and accessed in the school’s courtyard during recess periods. Several mobile libraries have now been produced and are in use at the school, and Giovanni has informed us that he and his staff are so pleased with the results that they have now allocated dedicated time-slots across all classes for reading activities.
Upgrade of Computer Classroom
During our visit to St. Julien RCA School in February 2024 we were most pleased to see the upgraded and fully equipped ICT – computer – facility which our Foundation funded.
